2008APIC年会，是国际性的院感界的盛事。现做简单介绍。详情见www.apic.ORG.com

2008年6月15日至19日，在丹佛科罗拉多会议中心召开《2008APIC年会》。预将“感染预防与控制引领到一个新的高度！”
APIC计划，该次年会议满足感控领域各专业人员教育的需要。参会人员像：医疗机构质控专业人士，流行病学家，医生，护士，微生物学，临床病理学，实验室技术人员和公共卫生医生及其他医疗专业人士。

该次年会时间计划安排大致为：3月21日  年会投稿截止日期；4月14日  参会代表报名截止日期；5月16日  入住优惠酒店房间登记截止日期；6月15日至19日  APIC年度会议。APIC网站开通征求会议提案活动。2008年4月21日下午5:00对APIC选择的研究项目举行网上资助拍卖； 6月17日下午2时30分，在会议现场举行实物拍卖活动。拍卖活动进行现场直播。组织或个人的竞拍，拍卖所得和捐赠进入APIC收益基金和APIC的学生助学金计划。该研究基金会奖项，以每位5000元补助金支持3名学生的研究。这些研究继续围绕推动感染预防和控制实践的关键问题进行。年会前的多个会前会，不再另行通知召集。主要进行证书教育、认证复习、院感管理人员交流、院感防控管理与监测计划研讨等内容。该年会也有多个著名赞助商和预约参展台的代理商参加。

罗伯特米wachter医学博士，美国旧金山加州大学教授和医学部副委员长。主持医院医学工作。他亦是三藩市加州大学医学中心的行政领导。他在医疗质量、安全，卫生政策等各个领域发表过200余篇文章和6书籍。术语" hospitalist " 即为他在1996年新英格兰医学杂志的文章上首创。曾为首任社会医院民选总裁。他被普遍认为是hospitalist运动的学术领导人。“hospitalist” 成为现代医学史上发展最快的专业。
    他主编的《ahrq webm ＆ M》杂志，内容全部刊载病人安全案例，电子杂志在网站上发布（http://webmm.ahrq.gov ）。并建立病人安全网站（ http://psnet.ahrq.gov ）。网站访问量近200万。他的著作《内出血》；《真相背后，美国的可怕传染病的医疗失误》，已成为全国畅销书。近期将出版他的新著：《理解病人的安全》。wachter博士讨论患者的安全和质量的话题，在美国多家电台和主流报纸连续播报和连刊。2004年获得象征民族最高荣誉的约翰米艾森伯格奖。在2008年，现代医疗保健杂志任命他为第19届美国最具影响力的执业医师。他又是多家卫生健康机构、公司和委员会的董事或顾问。他在 www.wachtersworld.org的博客，是全国最受欢迎的保健博客。
